That commission comes out of the retailer’s margin — it costs you nothing extra, and you pay exactly the same price you would by going to the retailer directly. Those commissions are what keep the site online, ad-light and free of paywalls.

Commissions never influence our rankings

This is the part that matters most. Our rankings are ordered by real cost per terabyte and by editorial judgement about whether a product is fit for its purpose — never by what a retailer or programme pays us. The sort is computed from price and capacity before any commission is considered, so a product that earns us nothing can and does outrank one that earns us more. Prices and availability change

Prices, stock and offers shown on this site are accurate as of the last update and can change at any time without notice. We refresh our data daily, but always confirm the current price at the retailer before you buy. We don’t display fake ‘original’ prices, invented discounts or countdown timers — a ‘deal’ here means a genuinely low cost per terabyte, nothing more.

Not all links are affiliate links

Many links on the site — to our own guides, tools, about and reference pages — are not affiliate links and earn us nothing. We link to whatever is genuinely useful, affiliate or not. Outbound retailer links that are affiliate links are marked up appropriately for browsers and search engines.

Independence is the product

The whole value of harddisc.net is an honest ranking you can trust. We’d rather lose a commission than mislead you about which terabyte is cheapest.
